Who We Are
Companions Who Care is a small friendly local home support and companionship service. Donna O’Brien, the owner and manager, has more than 20 years experience working as a Community Nurse in the Bath area. Her expertise brings a unique understanding of the tailored support required for our clients.
We support individuals in Bath, South Gloucestershire, and West Wiltshire areas. We provide companionship and practical support for older people and vulnerable individuals in our local communities, to enable them to remain independent in their own homes.
Our ‘Companions’ are carefully chosen, with life experience and a caring nature. They have been fully vetted through references and enhanced DBS checks, are fully insured and have completed relevant training including safeguarding procedures, food hygiene training, and dementia awareness.
Visit reports can be shared with family members after each visit if required.
We aim for the same Companion to visit clients each week, to build up a supportive, trusting and meaningful relationship. Visits are based around each client’s individual needs, and activities can vary with each visit if required. They can be based around practical help, or concentrate more on companionship and social activities.
